“It's so important to forgive people for their wrongs in your own life because every bit of it was for a reason—it was to form the person that you are.” Tyler Perry
All of us experience situations in our life in which we can choose to forgive an individual/situation or we can choose not to. I truly believe it is important to let go of any anger, fear, frustration, guilt, sadness, bitterness, etc. and in order to do this we must forgive in our hearts. If we hold onto the feelings the only person it hurts is our inner self. Holding onto those feelings is not healthy and our bodies will let us know. If we learn to forgive and release then we are better off both physically and emotionally. Life is too short to hold onto those bitter feelings. When we forgive we give ourselves the opportunity to live life to the fullest. Forgiveness does not mean that we have to have that person/situation enter back into our life, it just means we truly release the feelings associated with that person/situation when we do we feel the difference. Take the opportunity today to reflect, forgive and CELEBRATE the person you are today. The Holidays are almost upon us and yet many of us are still rushing around trying to get that final gift to make this an extra special Christmas for someone else. May I suggest instead of rushing, slow down and listen. Listen to the laughter of your loved ones, listen to the stories of the older, wiser family members, just listen. Listen for the little nuances that every family has. Just breath and remember that time is the best gift we can give to others. Let go of the need to replace your time with material items. The best gift we can give is ourselves.
That is my wish for all of you this Holiday Season remember to give your time and to listen with your whole being. Peace to all. Each day we are blessed to have special moments with people we care about, respect and love. These moments for me are like a mental photo! We have these moments in our memory banks for the rest of our life. When we are down or just need to take a "mini vacation" we have the chance to take one of these moments from our memory bank. What a great blessing this is for each of us to have and be able to use.
In the same way when you work with a coach they will ask you at certain times to pull from that memory bank for examples of where you have been and where you would like to see yourself in the future. All I ask each of you today to do is take a moment and remember that we are all blessed in our own special way! Strength, Wisdom and Grace. Strength to accept, Wisdom to know it will pass and Grace to allow it to happen as it should. Judy Micale 12/10/10.
As I reflect on the past week and realize that I have been on an emotional rollercoaster. I thought about what this means for me. It means that I am in a growth cycle and I just need to have the strength, wisdom and grace to allow the feelings, tears and dare I say growing pains to occur. I may want to try to control, but for true growth I need to release the EGO and let the growth happen in the time and manner that is deemed by something much bigger than me! "We often take for granted the very things that most deserve our gratitude." Cynthia Ozick
This beautiful quote from Cynthia Ozick really brought home the message of what the Holiday Season is about for me. The material things are not what I am grateful for, what I am truly grateful for are the moments we capture with friends and family. These moments are like snapshots in our memory pool. We can bring them out throughout the years and remember fondly these moments that have been captured. During this Holiday Season remember to capture a moment or two with your friends and family. These are the things that last a lifetime. |
