I started the journey at the beginning of this month and have started over twice now! I decided that in order for me to truly give to the fullest I would need to record on the calendar provided that way I could really keep track of the process. The interesting thing about this process is that you not only record what you give but you record what you receive which is the hardest part for me. Though I now get the concept that in order to truly give you must receive!
So here I go again on this wonderful journey and I hope to complete the full 29 days this time around!!!!!! :-) I am so excieted that I will be offereing a FREE teleclass on Reconnecting with Yourself on September 8, 2010 at 7 p.m. in order to register for this class you just need to click on the for more information section and fill in the form. I am only accepting the first 15 registrants for this teleclass. This class will be an overview of 10 ways we can all use to reconnect with our authentic self.
On another site someone posted this question and it led me to this response:
I am definitely a Half Full person. I was brought up to believe that all things happened for a reason. If one door closes another one will open up. Even if we don't understand at the moment why that door closed (sometimes even has been slammed ;_) there is always a gift at the end of the journey. I am a faithful follower of the Complaint Free World concept and feel that it is important to remember that we are here to grow and learn. My grandmother who was one of the wisest women that I have known once said to us as we were complaining about lack of funds "at least you have enough to pay your bills, remember to be thankful for the small things, the rest will come in due time." I really believe that we are all here to learn and grow from one another and what a beautiful gift that is, if we allow the "teachable moments" into our lives..... Interesting how this theme continues to be entering my vision life., both personally and professionally. Each of us is continuously evolving and growing (even if we don't see it). On a personal note it seems to accelerate as I grow older or is it because I am more conscious of the changes in my life and personality? The underlying theme for now appears to be learn, grow and share the experience with others!
Wow everyone I just wanted to give an update on the giving challenge. I am on Day 13 and this time round I have learned something different. My "aha moment" came after I had read the book 29 day challenge and the author Cami Walker spoke about the ability to receive as well as give. Personally it is much easier for me to give of myself and I really never gave much thought to the receiving piece. My "aha moment" is this you cannot truly give without learning to receive graciously. This means for me that I needed to learn how to accept without putting up a resistance, to just smile and just say thank you, without saying please let me..... and try to give something back in return. It is OK to just smile and allow others to give to you. Let me say that one more time "It is OK to just smile and allow others to give to you................that is my aha moment."
I have begun, for the second time, the 29 days of giving challenge and this time around is much more interesting. The first time I did this was because I loved the concept however, I hadn't read the book I just looked at the website and went for it. This time around I have read the book and gotten a different perspective of consciously being in the giving moment! It is a great experience and if you have not been to the website or heard of the book I encourage each of you to give a look. Enjoy the journey and let me know if you are taking the challenge!
