I woke up this morning and decided to change my thought process for the day from "I wonder what this day will bring?' to "I wonder what I can do today that will make this the best day yet?" It has made for an interesting day indeed. Instead of looking at the day with trepidation I have looked at the day as a day of exploration! What a fun and interesting way to reverse one's thought process. I think this will be the way I look at each day for this week and see what new and exciting possibilities come along.
Let me know if you decide to take on this challenge as well. Judy I have always said to clients, friends and family that when a door opens walk through it you'll be amazed at what you can discover by doing this. Well ten years ago a HUGE door opened for me and I made the decision to walk through it. I had the opportunity to move to another state but had three weeks in which to do it!
I packed up a few of my most important material items (I had the lightest load on the moving van!) and sold the majority of my stuff. I packed up the car with the remaining items and my cat Leah and proceeded to drive the 23 hours to my new home which was an apartment I found on the internet! I moved to a town where I had no safety net, I didn't know a single person except for the two people who had interviewed me for the job and I had only met them for about an hour. I was surprised when I was leaving at the amount of support from my friends and how many of them thought I was brave. I just thought that it was the right door to go through at the time. I have always lived my life like this and it has taken me to a lot of great and interesting places.... Brave? maybe, Interesting DEFINITELY!!!! Life is too short to second guess yourself go through the door and see where it leads..... "If we wait for the moment when everything, absolutely everything is ready, we shall never begin." -Ivan Turgenev
Change begins by examining where we are in the present. When I read the quote by Ivan Tugenev I thought how this quote works for coaching. Being a coach means working with individuals where they are now and encouraging them to go to the next level. Being a coach means that I may ask a person to step to the next level and then ask them to report back to me as to their progress. Waiting for everything to be in alignment before making that next move how many of us have done that? Having had a coach and becoming one I realize that the coaching piece just helped me overcome my hesitation and it felt that I had a little bit of a safety net. Let me assist you to the next level and be your safety net contact me if you are interested in having a coach in your life. Judy "Being successful is easy. Being respected and appreciated is special. Rather than becoming a person of success, become a person of value. " Ed and Deb Shapiro. I found this quote today and it really brought home the meaning of what my coaching technique is about. I truly believe that "becoming a person of value" is the reason we are here. This leads us to find our purpose in life. If we identify our values and then explore how our life is at this point in time we may find that we are on the right path or it may help us identify why we are frustrated where we are at. Love this idea of identifying our values and moving from there. I just completed this step myself through my coaching class and it has really helped me reevaluate and move in a slightly different direction. Gotta love challenges and growing. Interested in having a coach contact me! Have a blessed day.... Judy
There is this great quote I keep framed on my desk. It states:
"You are not your income. Discover your true worth by letting money serve its purpose as you seek out yours." unknown I am not sure where I found this quote I just know that it struck a great cord in me. I strive to remember that each day I am here for a purpose. What that purpose is may not be revealed to me for that day until the end of the day. One practice that I have established as a routine is I reflect back and remember my day and either physically or mentally note 5 things I was grateful for throughout my day. Some days I wake up and know exactly what "I think" it is that I need to do and as the day evolves I find out that there was another plan for me! So now I just remember that each day is a beginning and each minute is a beginning. I know that there is a plan that I am fulfilling. We all have a purpose in life it is up to us to remind ourselves of that. |
